lies in the remote North West of Zimbabwe. It is one of Southern Africa’s least known parks and also one of the most beautiful. Green gorges, dense woodland, flood plains and mountain - each sheltering its own mix of game. The high escarpment views, the silence and isolation are as great an attraction as the teeming wildlife.

Elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, a full panoply of smaller game and an astonishing variety of birds (including the rare Angolan pitta), all will reveal themselves to the dedicated viewer, for this is no tame safari park, no open air zoo.

This special place is served by only one small but classic lodge.

Chizarira Lodge is perched along a cliff edge. Built in stone and thatch, it blends into the bush with a cool and airy main lodge and 8 two-person en suite chalets, each with its balcony poised for flight into the African blue yonder.

From here you can explore the park on foot or by landrover, take it easy around the pool and camp fire or set off on camping or fishing expeditions.

Fly to the Park’s airstrip from Victoria Falls and then on to a string of parks and lodges east up the Zambezi or West to Hwange and Botswana’s Chobe.

Chizarira Lodge is a joint initiative of registered charities the Wilderness Foundation UK, Wilderness Foundation Africa and IAPF Zimbabwe.
